Confronting Obstacles to Reconciliation: Empowering Children to Envision and Build Their Peaceful Future is a three-year project aimed at the change in educational system in Bosnia and Herzegovina which reflects a vision of an equal and just society, a society that promotes peace and reconciliation, and encourages all children to dream, envision and build their future. The Project is implemented by two partner organizations, Center for Educational Initiatives Step by Step (CEI) and proMENTE, with secured co-funding from Open Society Fund Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Overall goal: To effect change in the education system which will reflect a vision of an equal, just society; a society that promotes peace, reconciliation, and encourages all children to dream, envision and build their future.
Project has three specific objectives: Build trust and partnerships among students from different ethnic groups across BH by providing opportunities for them to share ideas, meet and work on projects cooperatively; Improve capacities of teachers, school management and policy makers in the implementation of critical pedagogy, inclusiveness and intercultural education and Develop capacities and resources to influence systemic changes in curricula and pedagogical approaches that enhance the development of students’ competencies and prepare them to successfully participate in a democratic world.
