This document presents the Teacher professional training needs assessment in accordance with the established Occupational Standards for Teaching profession developed within the project „Development of a qualifications framework for general education”. Qualitative and quantitative methods were used for the purpose of triangulating data from multiple sources. The results show that job descriptions for educators and teachers in primary and secondary schools are not clearly defined nor prescribed by official documents. Educators who participated in this research, as well as teachers from several cities, did not have the opportunity to see the Occupational Standards. Educators and teachers believe that, among the offered areas, professional training is most needed in the area of planning and programming, and the least in the area of cooperation with family and community and creating an environment for development and learning. This analysis has evaluated themes within each area in which educators and teachers need more, or less, professional training.
